I stumbled across this tattoo while bouncing around the interwebs. No word on who’s the proud canvas (other than he’s from Australia), but the artist was Mike DeVries.

Quite the Colorful Mario Sleeve
Paul from Glasgow, Scotland sent in his Mario Brother’s sleeve. He says he’s been playing Mario since the age of 2 or 3 and still plays 19 years later! This colorful tattoo was inked by Laura Kennedy at Timeless Tattoo.

Kirby as Link Tattoo
Here’s a crossover you don’t see very often. Kirby + Link = Lirby? Kink? Kirbink? Whatever you call it, Matt has it. He got the combination tattoo after two of his closest friends passed away in a car accident. They had played a lot of Smash Bros 64 together and the two friends had their favorite characters, Kirby and Link. So at the suggestion of a third friend, Matt got a tattoo of both of them.
The tattoo was done at Phase II Tattoo in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada by Jordan.

Grrr Arrgh!
I’m sitting here going through Geeky Tattoos submissions while my partner watches Buffy the Vampire Slayer in the other room. Or at least I think that’s what all that screaming, crashing, and 90s fashion is all about. (Yes, the fashion literally screams late 90s) When I came across Terry’s tattoo I couldn’t resist posting it, even though he provided zero back-story, no hint on who did it, or why he got it. Oh well, for the Joss Whedon fans out there, you’ll understand not getting an explanation cause that’s what happens every time they cancel one of his series away from our desirous hearts!

Lego + Ghostbusters = Awesome Tattoo
It’s hard to find a geek these days that didn’t play with Legos when they were growing up, or for that matter still playing with them today! Also for those of us around in the 80s, chances are you loved Ghostbusters. Well Daniel‘s wife, Tiffany, took the two geeky pleasures and combined them into a fun and colorful tattoo. I especially like the attention to detail with Venkman’s cigarette dangling. Heather Maranda of Skinfinity Tattoo in Winter Haven Florida is responsible for the inking.

A Big Star Wars Fan
Andii is a Star Wars fan, but you probably already realized that. She got the above tattoo from Tommy Back at Monsters Ink Tattoo. Tommy designed the tattoo and Andii quickly jumped on the opportunity to put it on her skin.
It’s not her only Star Wars tattoo, she’s also got the Rebel and Empire symbols on her hips, Darth Vader on one shoulder, and Obi-Wan Kenobi on the other.

Umbrella Corp Has Her Back
Sarah Higgins has always been a huge fan of the Resident Evil series (who isn’t?), but she took it one step further than the rest of us zombie-killers and got the corporate logo tattooed on her. Umbrella isn’t the only thing that has her back; the other half is dedicated to a Primal logo from the PS2 game of the same name.

The Perfect Starbuck Tattoo
John put a lot of time and effort into making sure his Starbuck/Anders tattoo was perfect:
I put a lot of thought into how to get it done because I’d seen people get smaller versions, in different places and at different angles and it never looked right – so, other than the fact that I wanted it on the right arm and not the left (both personal preference and to match where Anders’ was), I wanted it as exactly like the version on the screen as possible. I had a tattoo artist and BSG fan on LiveJournal called “IrishCal” computer draw the stencil for it from HD broadcasts, then I had Pete (Living Canvas in Columbia, MO) blow it up and size it just right for my arm so that it would fit from elbow to shoulder tip as it does on Starbuck’s. I also printed off several HD screens of Starbuck’s and had Pete redraw the LiveJournal stencil half a dozen times to perfect all the cuts and the geometry as closely as possible. There are a few other kinds of BSG tattoos out there, like the BSG75 seal, but I don’t think you’ll find a better or more exact recreation of Starbuck’s than mine.

Nintendo Controller on Her Foot
Bridget (aka bridgendo) says she drew the above design way back in high school, but finally just got around to getting Paul at Belmont Tattoo to ink it on her foot. Old school Nintendo controllers tend to make for great tattoos, especially when there’s a bit of a personal flair. This isn’t her only nerdy tattoo, and it’s not her first time on Geeky Tattoos either! I posted her Duck Hunt tattoos a ways back.
