People really love their software. Previously I posted a Reason tattoo, Ivan’s Office tattoo, and Critter’s tech sleeve. Today we bring you an AutoCAD tattoo via one of our favorite body mod sites. BMEzine shared the above tattoo of the AutoCAD dimensioning toolbar inked on a drafting geek’s arm. This one was done by Derek Noble at Lucky Devil.

3-D Tattoos
Here’s an interesting method of tattoos, using an anaglyph method of achieving a 3 dimensional tattoo when viewed with red/blue glasses. I’d love to see some of these in person. I hope the owners carry around a pair of 3D glasses to help show off the awesomeness of these 3-D tattoos.
These tattoos were done by Jef at Lost Highway Tattoo in Belgium. I highly recommend heading over and checking out his tattoo gallery. He has done some incredibly awesome pixelated tattoos. I also found a larger gallery of his work over here. And before we leave you, we found at least one other artist, Michelle Tarantelli at Saved Tattoo, doing these kinds of tattoo. Check out this classic Mom & Dad 3-D tattoo by her.

DocPop’s Yo-Yo Tattoo
DocPop dropped us some comment love on that last yo-yo post and pointed out his very own yo-yo tattoo that you see above! I think we may have also discovered the source of his secret yo-yo powers. This photo shows proof of him being injected with the super secret yo-yo-serum. Oh wait, you say it’s just a flu shot? I’m sure that’s what they want us to think!

A Nice Yo-Yo Tattoo
We found the above photo of Zamstrom’s fresh tattoo on his Flickr set via none other than DocPop himself. For those not up to speed in the yo-yo scene, Möbius (Moebius) is a style of yo-yoing invented by Doctor Popular.
I tried to find some videos of this Möbius style to include, but could only find some downloadable mpgs over on The Glass Lab. So here’s a video of Doc Pop just doing what he does best:

Another Helvetica Tattoo
I stumbled across this and just had to share it. I was surprised to see one Helvetica tattoo, let alone a second! Hardcore font geeks are out there living amongst us!
I don’t know who the owner of this is (if you’re out there, step up and flaunt your awesomeness!) but the photo was shot by Simon Daoudi at the 2008 San Diego Comic Con.

Battlestar Galactica Caprica Tattoo-ica
Bryan writes in to show us his Battlestar Galactica tattoo. It’s inspired by Starbuck’s tattoo on the show and Bryan is a huge fan of the show. In the show, Starbuck’s husband, Anders, has a matching tattoo that lines up to form the symbol of Caprica when they embrace:
Here’s hoping Bryan’s lucky enough to find someone to sport the other half someday. :)

Patapon Marches Across His Chest
I don’t speak Italian, but I recognize Patapon (link contains audio) when I see it. From what I can gather, Masatomo Ueda says he got this tattoo of the popular video game because it incorporates four things he loves: Japan,”stylized graphics with a strong personality”(?), music, and video games. The artist is Camila Rocha of SP, Brasile.

Helvetica In a Different Kind of Ink
Helvetica has a posse…. C’mon, how many fonts out there have their own movie? And now Helvetica can lay another claim to fame, it’s been tattooed on someone.
Glenn Sorrentino, a graphic designer, had talked about getting an “I <3 Helvetica” tattoo for awhile. In December he went through with it and got the “tramp stamp” you see above. It was met with both adoration and critique on kerning over on Typophile when he posted it, and it also made it on the front page of New City Media, the company he works for currently. I think it’s a perfect blend of geek with both a font reference and the “<3”.

Cute Android Tattoo
This one is quickly making the rounds on the web via just about every gadget blog. We couldn’t resist posting it as well. Natalie, aka “kommodore”, went out and got a birthday tattoo of the Android robot on her wrist. She’s a proponent of open source software, and like most of us probably couldn’t resist the cute little green robot. If I’m not mistaken, this is the first Android tattoo spotted in the wild. Nice choice Natalie!
