The saying “Nothing risked nothing gained, nothing lost, nothing learned” has stuck with me through the years and I wanted it as tattoo.. But fancy script isn’t really my style. I’ve been writing a lot of php lately, so I figured why not put a programmer’s twist on
it.

Well, as far back as I can remember, I was probably about 5-6 when I first played Megaman on the NES and beat it…. Ever since then I’ve been hooked and eventually, overall Megaman (Rockman) became my childhood super hero. There hasn’t been a Megaman game made by Capcom that I haven’t played or beat. REALLY looking forward to Legends 3 on the 3DS. ANYWAYS there’s a lil story behind why I got him tatted on me for the rest of my life.
You can tell how backlogged in submissions we are here at GeekyTattoos. Sadly, as I’m sure all you Megaman fans know, Legends 3 was cancelled. But if you’re like Austin, I’m sure you also already know about 100,000 Strong for Bringing Back Mega Man Legends 3.

We got these Zelda tattoos a few days after the 25 anniversary of Zelda. It was very out of the blue and we did it within 10 minutes of talking about it. The artist looked at us like we were crazy, but both of us are really satisfied with out tattoos.
Autumn has the life hearts on her foot and Moses has Link on his wrist. Both done at New Addiction Tattoo in Calhoun, GA.

Aubrie (@ohheyaubrie) writes in:
My name is Aubrie, I got this tattoo done by Dub at Divinity Tattoo in Phoenix, Arizona. The only real back story here is I am a huge science nerd and I am a hard-ass for the facts of evolution. The extra benefit to having this tattoo is it’s kind of a quick way to weed out the idiots (like the people who don’t know who he is, or the people who after seeing it say, “well what about creationism?”). The coolest thing about this tattoo is that when I met Richard Dawkins he said it was amazing, and that J. Craig Venter now has a picture of me and my tattoo on his phone. Highlight of my life. Also, during the holidays we draw things on him, such as Santa hats or laurel crowns.

Amanda Deng sent in a couple shots of her SpaceShip2 tattoo. Here’s hoping she can get together enough money to hitch a ride on it someday!
Work done by Justin @ Black Diamond Tattoo in Venice California
I noticed some of the shots of her are in a shoe store. I’m guessing she was probably picking up some moon boots for her trip.

I started using Ubuntu about 4 years ago, and it’s what really got me interested in open-source software. Now I work in tech and still use Ubuntu as my primary work-from-home distro in a Mac-centric office. I know the Linux fanboys will make fun of me for this (they seem to think that Linux is only cool if it’s difficult to use), but I’m pretty stoked on it.
I got this at Action Tattoo in Orange County, CA, by the awesome and totally personable Will (who has been dying to do a zombie hand tattoo… might have to think about it for my next one).

Dustin sent in his rad Star Wars sleeve you see above. He writes:
This is my Sith Star Wars Leg Sleeve, I sent pictures a while back of the outline work we did but this is the finished product. I don’t have good pics of the back of my leg which has the Death Star and Star Destroyer on it but if need be I can send them ASAP. Also the banner at the bottom says “Jedi Scum” (right beneath General Grievous). Traditional artwork with some nerdiness to it. Tattoo and artwork was done by Jeremy Sloo Hamilton @ Next Generation Tattoos in Locust, NC.
It includes Darth Vader, a Stormtrooper, Boba Fett, General Grievous, the Death Star, a Star Destroyer, and a couple Tie Fighters. It all began with my Boba Fett piece, I am a huge fan of Star Wars ever since I was 7 or so, I am 24 now, and I have always been drawn to the dark side more so than the Jedi, so when I talked to my tattoo artist about the Boba piece I didn’t want just a regular Boba Fett that everyone sees in the movies, I wanted it to be really unique. So as you can see in the picture, Jeremy Sloo Hamilton took his classic armor and transformed it more into a Civil War style uniform depicting an actual war. We wanted it to keep a more traditional style to the piece since Boba isn’t the normal Boba we all know, so thats why there are roses and more of a traditional feel to the tattoos.
For pics of the sleeve in progress, check out the gallery below:

Feet tattoos often make me cringe because I hear they’re some of the most painful tattoos. But Tank’s 8-bit feet tattoos made me smile when I recognize the two plumbers of my childhood. He writes:
I had my 30th birthday this year and my 25th year as a gamer. When I was 5 my first video game experience was Super Mario Bros. and I have been hooked ever since. I decided to get matching 8 Bit versions of Mario and Luigi as a celebration of this and to have something to smile about when I wear flip flops.
They were inked by David Boggins at Body Language Tattoo in Columbus, OH.
